The hotdogs can be paid for by trading a demon pig. Jack Frost will try to bargain for the gemstone you awoke with. DO NOT give him your gemstone.

INFO ON DEMONS

The Full Moon causes increased Demonic activity.

A demon is heavily influenced by the lunar phases, and when the moon's full that's when they're at their most dangerous and unpredictable. There'll be no negotiating with them safely while they're in their moon-crazed state.

Our very presence riles Demons up- as opposed to the sight of us.

You cannot rely on humans to behave rationally here.
when demons are involved you can never rely on the predictability of [human] natural instinct. demons are distinctly unnatural and prolonged exposure to them, either via contracting their services or just by being in close proximity, can cause shifts in a human's perception and behavior - usually for the worst. in short: a human's worst self is close to the forefront when demons are involved, no matter their inherent goodness.

Never trust a Demon
[Demons] are helpful, and they're legitimate about it too. they'll help you save someone. they'll help you communicate with others. they'll teach you vital skills that ensure your longevity in an otherwise hostile environment... and over time you'll trust them, as is natural... demons are not natural. they do not follow the same instincts as humans do or obey the same social rules or expectations. they'll legitimately help you until you're blinded by your trust of them, and that's when they'll stick in the knife.

Recruiting Demons
Demons can, indeed, be recruited based on contracts with clear and concise terms, though you must be extremely careful with what you offer, and how you word your offers/commands.

The information we've been given on the demons' abilities and weaknesses is not necessarily correct, and conflicts with information given by others who have experience with these creatures in their own worlds/realities.

The ones we have seen are relatively weak according to people with more experience with demons.

Angels are also Demons
they tend to be drawn to concentrated demonic activity - nothing more susceptible to holy doctrine than humans being tormented by demons

angels prefer humans to be alive to harvest the energy generated from their faith.

they only kill humans if they deem them to be "filthy" (i.e sinners), but even then, they tend not to because it's a lot more efficient to mindbreak them into loyal believers, than wasting the potential energy their souls can generate.

Demons ARE shaped by the human subconscious. its how they even exist. thanks to humans

Demons can and will eat other.
a few are picky about their food- most of 'em? if it moves and has magatsuhi they'll eat it
Magatsuhi: is a substance born from strong emotional energy.
humans have an overabundance of this
especially when fearful/panicked/enraged.
Magnetite: A thing demons equally covet that humans attract its physical form into their bodies(?)

After Last Batch died A*L*A and K5 got offline and will got offline again if we all die.
Theory: this could be why they are helping us- they do not wish to "got offline" as they would no longer see anything and seem to lose awareness.

INFO ON THE VILLAGE

Common death customs appear to be cremation with placement in funeral urns within the homes, although according to religious doctrine they sometimes have of burials within caskets. Despite this there is an unmarked mass grave underneath the graveyard.

Theory: The townsfolk were fearful they'd catch whatever it was that was making all these people drop dead in the middle of the night, and probably wanted to keep it a dirty little secret

Theory: Standard plague outbreak procedure to use mass graves. They died before getting around to making official memorial. They were unlikely to be able to hide the deaths in a village this size without the inhabitant noticing their stays at the medical facility, their disappearances, and the digging of the mass grave.

According to medical files within the hospital there was a recent rise in cases of SADS (aka Sudden Adult Death Syndrome, aka Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome) before the end of the village.
Medical term for "died in their sleep with no known cause"

Nurses note that patients appeared to be in fear and pain in their sleep before dying.

Cases of SADS accelerate in frequency up until the last date on hospital records, where twelve or potentially(?) more happened at once.

There are several locations throughout the village shielded by an invisible barrier.
"Bounded Fields, have some sort of energy source that should bring them down if shut off or removed, or a way of dispelling the barrier entirely. Depends on the barrier's creator."
