The night drags on.

The moon, full and bright, illuminates the world below as demons rise in indulgence of the hunt. All those who are not securely tucked away become prey, whose blood runs freely down the streets, whose screams fill the air in symphony, whose lives are snuffed out one by one as the night grows darker- but not quieter, no. Towards the far west, wind picks up in a deafening howl that tears through the forest violently enough to uproot trees, followed by a thunderous explosion atop the wall that sends large chunks of rock crashing down on parts of the immobile train, creating shockwaves felt all the way into town. Dark clouds gather overhead, smothering the moon and unleashing a downpour that continues unrelentingly until dawn, when the paltry sunlight behind the clouds is only enough to see that the rain that falls is in fact blood, thick and warm, coating the rooftops and the streets. Rivulets trickle towards the east, where they spill over the edges of the world and into the cavernous abyss of a mouth below.

Those who sleep will dream. They dream of being flat on their back, lying on hard metal, a warm breeze caressing their cheek, the faint scent of cherry blossom in the air. They dream of their bodies feeling like lead, heavy and unable to move, hardly able to breathe— and all the while in complete darkness. Whether they give in to exhaustion or struggle valiantly against it, they will eventually open their eyes to a different scene: of somebody's home before here, you and that person reliving the very last memory they had before waking up in the train just yesterday. It's a memory that culminates in darkness. Give in. Struggle. Open your eyes again and again and again, and eventually you will wake up to what you wish were just another bad dream: the unfortunate plane of existence we call reality.

It may not be a good morning, but it's morning. If characters glance at their COMP, they will see a bright number 7 on the screen that disappears as their chosen AI chimes in with a good morning greeting ("Whoa! Congrats on surviving the night, boss!" or "Yikes, you look like shit. Did you get any rest at all?"). Pulling up the map function shows fewer blue ally dots as expected, but perhaps unexpectedly, much fewer red enemy dots as well: there are very few demons to be seen, and those that are, show little interest in hunting unless they are attacked first. The forest is still and quiet, red Mandrake leaves littering the floor in abundance but the demons remain rooted underground, the Hares of Inaba huddled snug within their dens, bird demons taken roost underneath the canopy to keep out of the blood rain. The concert hall is silent today, guards at the door watchful and ready to snipe intruders. Inside the powerplant, the giant Ooze spreads lazily across the first floor, filling the space wall to wall, acid seeping underneath the front doors and burning its way outside. Indoors, outdoors, demons keep to themselves, seemingly sated.

It's almost peaceful. If you didn't know better.

The drizzle of blood tapers off over the course of Day 1, replaced by normal rain once night hits. The water that falls is clear, though bitter and metallic tasting, and the stormy weather continues for several days more. The temperature outside dips, even during the daytime, and the hunger that continues to persist (unless you're BB, who ate a Pixie, maybe) is made worse by the appearance of a hot dog stand that has been set up in front of the school building. Its existence in this place is wholly suspicious, entirely nonsensical, manifested as if out of a yandere devil summoner fever dream— and yet the mystery meat smells divine, and you are so so hungry.

"Hee-ho! Get your hot dogs here-ho! What? What kind of mee-hee-t is in it, ho? Don't worry about it, ho!"

INFORMATION:
Jack Frost is a spirit originating from England who brings in cold weather during the winter and is responsible for the frost that forms on the windows of homes and buildings. Though it is usually friendly and innocent, it also has a mischievous personality and will freezes those it dislikes to death, smiling all the while.

Can anybody resist that cute face? never mind the sales pitch. Jack Frost will operate on a barter system, though it really only seems interested in people's gemstones, or if they're willing to slaughter and bring it a Katakirauwa in exchange for a cold but still delicious hotdog dressed up in any variety of condiment. For those who muster the courage to go demon hunting to earn their meal, they will find that a single hotdog will stave off hunger for up to three days. For those who gave up their gemstone instead, K5 will be screaming at them not to do that, but also, please tell me. Maybe they'll rethink the offer, noticing that the gemstones they'd found on their person now feel slightly warm to the touch- growing warmer when in proximity to another person's gemstones, their colors more vibrant, stones faintly glowing as if with internal light.

Generous as Jack Frost is with providing dubious sustenance, it's a different story when it comes to the vending machine beside its stall. Inside are various drinks guaranteed to be cold, and include bottled water, coffee, teas, juices, blood and tears and many other questionable unlabeled liquids among its touted 100!!! varieties of beverage ("""beverage"""). Two problems: 1) there is no selection button, so you do not get to choose your drink; and 2) the machine will only take macca. Where to get macca? Figure that out yourself and earn your drink gacha.

On Day 1 only, wild demon encounters will be scarce and it will rain blood all day, after which the weather will transition into normal rain and demon encounters will also return to normal rates, less during the day and more frequent after dark.

When characters fall asleep any time in the next several days (including victims of the concert hall lullaby that will begin again starting Day 2, as well as inadvertent naps for those of you who are like lmao yeah whatever, i don't need sleep, i'm fine), they will be able to see the circumstances around other characters' canonpoints. This dream may take the form of being a bystander, or from the point of view of the character, whichever would be more fun/interesting to play.

As characters investigate different locations in the setting, more aspects of the game will be unlocked and will be updated in the post above. In summary, from the previous TDM event, characters have found doors sealed by barriers in the school, greenhouse, and hospital. The concert hall and powerplant are still both heavily guarded by demons that prevent thorough investigation until dealt with.

Action: Intrigued by Dio (who had just been Just There in the church) wandering off into the BLOOD RAIN at the height of full moon, Mister M and Rosie decide to try and retrace the man's steps once it's safe outside. So, they're heading east, wherever east will take them.

Note that at the first sign of trouble they will just skeddadle. This is a scouting mission...

Since the incubus has made a hush deal with BB to keep the half-demon thing on the down low, I should've asked these earlier:
- Would the demons have any particular reaction to Merlin during negotiations/dialogue?
- Would offering his half-demonic blood and/or magical energy elicit any particular reactions from them? Extra tasty like Dimitri? Actually kinda nasty?
- Actually, is offering magical/mental/spiritual energy a thing in the first place, since they can't use magic spells or anything atm?

Action: Any Demon around that wants to talk, BB will convince them by bartering a future possibility of 1. I'll make all the food you could want or eat come true when I get my powers back 2. When my powers come back I'll make you stronger. 3. As long as you leave me alone until then, I won't come between you and whatever you want to do either. 4. She would prefer it if they don't open their mouth and tell the other comp users her bartering with them, no telling on her! That would be bad :)!

"How does she convince them any of this is true?" idk she looks crazy enough, do they believe her?

She also might even try to convince them she is on their side more than she is on the COMP user's side (she is not).

If this bites her in the ass later down, cool, I love consequences, let her suffer. Let's see how far she can convince the demons she reached for the gun.

Questions to any demon who will answer her:
1. How long have they been here for(the demons)? If they say a long time, BB will follow up with: Were there others like them before this group, how long ago, and how many times?
2. Will ask if anyone knows the purpose of all this?
3. Will ask if they turn the power plant back on, and if the demons will try to destroy it?
4. Where is the coolest place to hang out with the demons, BB wants to hang out with them.

Might ask more questions, just want to see outcome atm!

Anyway in general if they don't wanna answer those questions either, BB will chill and chat with them too. Befriend them, hang out, she is basically a devil herself lets be real. tldr; let her build rapport with the demons.

Location: Hospital
Action: Alice hasn't given up on prying something useful out of this place, so she's decided to snoop around in the hospital's administrative offices and look for... well, any paper records at all (and she'll keep an eye out for if there are, in fact, regular patient records and signs that this was an actual functioning hospital at some point because she has Suspicions), but anything particularly suspect is a plus. She'll also see if she can power on any computers that are present; Alice is pretty handy with gadgets thanks to years on the run so she'll rig together a direct current modulator to hook up to Poser and have it release some of that sweet, sweet electricity magic to try and turn on digital devices.

He goes with the route of killing two Katakirauwa for two hotdogs. If Jack Frost agrees to the trade, he's gonna feed one hotdog first to ULTIMATE SHEEP Xiezhai to make sure it won't, like, idk, explode or do some other crazy weird shit before eating his own.

And, of course, while buying foodstuff, he engages in the age old practice of chatting up the hotdog stand guy. An enterprising demon like Jack Frost probably knows all the gossip, right? What about this blood rain, crazy, huh? Also what's up with the hospital's basement? Also will he also one day branch out to including fries with these hotdogs if business stays good?

Action: Minato's back with a vengeance in his quest to get himself a manic pixie dream girl. Luckily for him, no need for charades today. Less luckily, the guards at the door seem not-so-friendly.

Accompanying him at his invitation, the Princess will suggest they could try one of three approaches: look for another entrance, use a distraction in order to sneak past the guards, or attempt to bribe the guards. It's Minato's mission though, so...

3. Can a character change the shape of their COMP or is it stuck how it initially formed when they first noticed it?

4a. For no reason whatsoever, can the demons pick up on youkai/demon/spirit/divine/etc. heritage/blood re: a person? How might they treat such a person?

4b. Can Nao and Yatagarasu be stupid @ each other on the basis of night-time bad time spider youkai vs sun goddess' divine messenger or would that be weird?

4c. Can Ala or Keigo pick up on non-human lineages?

Action: After she recovers from the MORTIFYING ORDEAL OF BEING KNOWN BY NAO, Alice will distract herself with trying to find some indication of where this train was supposed to be going, which might be hard since it's mostly wrecked but it's worth the efforts. A poster of the train line on the wall, a list of destinations in the conductor's car, a flyer, ANYTHING, because, like. Surely this train had to go somewhere, right. It wouldn't just constantly circle the town for no apparent reason, right???

Location: School - Library first, then barrier
Action: Nao and Dimitri will be looking through the library for:

"Any identifying information about the town, surrounding area, demons, current and old maps, language books, COMICS, PICTURE BOOKS if there's a kid-looking section because there can be a lot of good basic info in educational books for kids that might shed some clues, what sort of cataloging system the library is using, whether or not there's any computers. Also technology in the library, ANYTHING recognizable or incredibly distinct from a normal Earth library (according to Nao), whether there's any graffiti anywhere... Also writing utensils or things that can be written or drawn on... since schools are supposed to have that?? Nao thinks????"

Dimitri was guiding her to the library, and now the Ye Olde is Doing His Best(tm) to help her look for things.

Action: After the Incident at the graveyard, Alice will take a look at anything in the school's library that might indicate how the town traditionally buries their dead. If she fails to find anything there she'll take a peek at the religious books in church since priests typically have opinions on how you should bury ye dead on the way to the afterlife. Basically, Alice is trying to find out whether burying all of the town's dead in a mass grave is traditional or if it's an anomaly for the town's culture.

Location: Power plant
Action: Exploring the power plant, take 2 for Kate but take 1 for Merlin. Kate wants to see what's changed since her last visit, while Merlin will try to check out any administrative areas, in hopes of seeing if the last managers of the power plant have any manuals or notes on how to maintain it or get it back up and running in case of emergency, though he'll also be on the general lookout for anything suspicious as well.

They both have the shared goal of gauging the general mood of the slimes/demons here, with the end goal of trying to see if the big ol' Ooze can be conversed with as well, so they'll also try to converse with a couple of the smaller Slimes and Oozes along the way in hopes of any new information.
